Italian site iSpazio notes [ Google translation ] that Apple has made a small but helpful tweak to the iTunes Store when accessed from a computer, now allowing users to access information on content such as songs, albums, videos, apps, and books via a pop-up window rather than needing to click through to a separate page within the store. The new option, which appears in most locations within the store as a small "info" button in the lower right corner of the content's icon when the user hovers over the item, is available on both main iTunes Store and App Store feature pages as well as in search results.

iTunes version of Avatar will let users control scenes, more

Posted On Friday, December 16, 2011 By temp. Under TechCrunch, TUAW  Tags: apple tv, film, function-learn, iTunes, itunesextras, james cameron, jamescameron, movie, specialedition, techcrunch, tuaw, var-learn
Apple has just announced a special iTunes version of James Cameron's Avatar that will not only include some special extras like the film's script and a big 1,700 picture special effects gallery of pictures to browse through, but allow viewers to actually control 17 scenes as they happen, switching between different views like the finished film, rough CG cuts, and the original live action motion capture footage. Viewers will also be able to "x-ray" these scenes, moving a special view around the screen that will show off the original live action footage, superimposed over the finished movie. Sounds pretty awesome to us.

Apple Temporarily Halts New iTunes Match Subscriptions in New International Markets

Posted On Friday, December 16, 2011 By admin. Under iPhone Apps, MacRumors  Tags: apple, imac, ireland, iTunes, mac, navigation, search-engine
With Apple launching a broad international roll-out of iTunes Match yesterday to well over a dozen new countries, it appears that the expansion has come with some growing pains for the cloud-based music service. The service had started to prematurely go live for some users the day before, and several hours after the international expansion users around the world reported temporary problems accessing iTunes Store and iCloud services due to usernames and passwords being rejected. While those technical issues appear to have been resolved, demand appears to still remain high for new iTunes Match subscriptions, and we've been hearing word that Apple has temporarily shut down new subscription signups in some of the new countries.
