Tim Cook and Walter Isaacson Named to TIME’s List of 100 Most Influential People

TIME magazine today released its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and two of the selections have close ties to Apple: CEO Tim Cook and Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson . Each selection is accompanied by an essay by another prominent personality or close associate outlining why the person qualifies for inclusion in the list. The essay on Cook is written by former vice president Al Gore, who has served on Apple's board of directors since 2003

After Steve Jobs' passing last year, a number of so-called " lost interviews " with the iconic businessman were released, but Fast Company claims it has " a treasure trove of unearthed interviews , conducted by the writer who knew [Jobs] best." Since 1985, reporter Brent Schlender had covered Steve Jobs for Fortune and the Wall Street Journal and discovered three dozen tapes with recordings of interviews Schlender had conducted with Jobs over 25 years: Rummaging through the storage shed, I discovered some three dozen tapes holding recordings of extended interviews--some lasting as long as three hours--that I'd conducted with him periodically over the past 25 years. Phil Hassey’s Anathema Mines renamed Dynamite Jack, gets a trailer

A little while ago at GDC , I sat down with Galcon creator Phil Hassey. He showed me a game he called Anathema Mines that was a stylish take on stealth action, with a fun mechanic of blowing up walls (as long as you could keep out of the reach of flashlight-wielding enemies). Apparently he's done a lot of work and a little bit of brand tweaking to the title, because it's now called Dynamite Jack , and you can watch the official trailer below.

Apple's stock has continued its remarkable run in 2012, moving up another 1% today to briefly hit a market capitalization of $600 billion. The milestone comes just under six weeks after hitting $500 billion , and Apple's stock is now up nearly 60% since the beginning of the year. If some analysts are to be believed, the $600 billion mark is just a brief stop on the company's way to a trillion dollar market capitalization .

I've never found the controls on these games where I want, but word is the Payne update will offer some customization for touchscreens. In Anandtech's lengthy iPad review , they reveal knowledge of an internal Apple project for a game controller for iOS: I know of an internal Apple project to bring a physical controller to market, but whether or not it will ever see the light of day remains to be seen.
